
On July 20, Nikon and Sharp signed an agreement that allows them to use “nature’s technology” knowledge captured decades ago by Sharp used in home applications and Nikon’s high-precision micro-fabrication technology to create new surfaces for product with anti-fouling, water repellency and reduction of drag forces characteristics among others. Their goal is to add a function to a variety of products through biomimicry, with which they hope to find organisms or principles that guide the research and development.
