Telemedicine stethoscope based on Biomimicry

Nexa3D, Henkel and Wedmed have partnered togehter to produce the first additively manufactured and connected stethoscope for telemedicine called SKOP. Its sustainable design has been inspired by nature, taking the human ear as a model in order to maximize its performance. Its geometry can only be manufactured through hierarchical layer additions, therefore it can only be generated through ultra-fast three-dimensional printers.

Thanks to the speed and flexibility of the production model, SKOP has already been tested and adopted by cardiologists, pulmonologists and practitioners. The product is on the market and it is expected to be able to produce 100,000 units per year.
