Architecture & Biomimicry: LivMats pavilion opens its doors

The livMats pavilion located in the botanical garden of the University of Freiburg in Germany has been presented in the last days. The structure is entirely inspired by biomimicry according to its creators and is expected to offer an efficient alternative to conventional construction. It has already been considered as a significant step towards sustainable solutions in architecture. For its construction, flax fibers have been used, a material locally available, being also biodegradable and naturally renewable.
